内容摘要：This seminar provides an overview of our research in deep learning and image processing. The research presented includes assistive navigation for blind people, drone imaging for precision agriculture, road infrastructure analysis via georeferenced imagery, multispectral imaging for biosecurity scanning, and drone detection and classification.
报告人简介：Son Lam Phung is a Professor at the School of Electrical, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering, University of Wollongong. He received B. Eng. with First-Class Honours and Ph.D. in computer engineering, from Edith Cowan University, Australia. He was awarded the University Medal in 2000. His research is in the areas of image and signal processing, pattern recognition, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
Prof. Phung has been a Chief Investigator for 19 research grants and projects from several organisations, including the Australian Research Council, Qatar National Research Fund, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads. He has published over 130 papers, including 40+ journal articles. Prof. Phung has co-supervised 30 HDR students (20 PhD and 10 MPhil) to successful completion. He received the Highly Commended Supervisor Award at the 2012 Canon Extreme Imaging Competition, and the OCTAL Faculty Early Career Teaching Award in 2010. Prof. Phung also received Research Paper Awards at 5 international conferences. He is currently serving as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Access, and a Section Editor (Sensing and Imaging Section) of Sensors.
